District Trustee Vale of Clwyd Scouts
About the role
As a District Trustee, you will be part of a small team of volunteers who work together to make sure Vale of Clwyd Scouts is run safely, legally, and in the best interests of our young people. At the heart of the role is a focus on strategy, performance, and assurance, giving you a real say in how Scouting develops across the District.
This is one of the most important volunteering roles in our District. It might not be the most visible, but without effective governance, none of the brilliant work our section volunteers do would be possible.
What you will do
- Attend 6 to 8 trustee board meetings per year, plus the Annual General Meeting
- Help ensure the District is well managed, financially sound, and legally compliant
- Contribute to strategic decisions about the future of Vale of Clwyd Scouts
- Make sure risks are identified and managed appropriately
- Act in the best interests of the charity and the young people we serve
Time commitment
Approximately 2 to 4 hours per month.
Who we are looking for
You do not need to be a current Scout volunteer or have a background in Scouting. We welcome applications from anyone who meets the eligibility requirements to serve as a charity trustee. We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in finance, legal, HR, property, communications, or charity governance, though no specific background is required. What matters most is a genuine commitment to making a difference for young people in Vale of Clwyd.
