We’re excited to announce that Vale of Clwyd Scouts now has two new District Youth Leads – Isaac Jones and Joseph Steel.
Both bring fresh energy, passion, and first-hand experience of scouting in Rhyl and across the district. They’ll be working closely with our leadership team to make sure young people have a strong voice in shaping the future of Scouting here in the Vale of Clwyd.
Isaac began his Scouting journey with 2nd Rhyl Scouts before moving up to Bobcats Explorer Scout Unit (ESU). Along the way, he’s taken on countless adventures, developed new skills, and grown into an inspiring role model for younger members. Isaac is particularly passionate about making sure young people feel heard and empowered within Scouting.
Joseph started out with 1st Rhyl Scouts and also progressed into Bobcats ESU. With a love for teamwork and leadership, Joseph has always been committed to helping others thrive in Scouting. He’s looking forward to using his new role to support young people across the district, ensuring their ideas and opinions make a real difference.
As District Youth Leads, Isaac and Joseph will:
- Work with the District Team to represent the voices of young people
- Help shape programmes and events so they’re led by youth, for youth
- Support Explorer Scouts and Network members in developing their own leadership skills
- Champion youth involvement at every level of decision-making
Jacob Jones, District Lead Volunteer said, “I’m thrilled to welcome Isaac and Joseph into these important roles. They bring enthusiasm and passion for the role and Scouting. Their experiences mean they know exactly what it’s like to grow through Scouting in our district. I’m confident they’ll help us build an even stronger, more youth-shaped future together.”
Aimee Curtis, Clwyd Area Youth Lead added, “I can’t wait to start working alongside Isaac and Joseph. The few meetings I’ve had with them already have been fantastic and their enthusiasm has just shone through. They’re going to be an asset to their District but also the wider Scouting Community and I can’t wait to see them come into their own at Area and National meetings.”
