Ten-year-old Joseph Crowe from 2nd Rhyl Scouts was beaming with pride this weekend as he was awarded the prestigious Chief Scout’s Silver Award during Camp Clwyd – a celebration that brought together Cubs from across the district.
The Chief Scout’s Silver Award is the highest honour a Cub Scout can achieve and recognises outstanding commitment, skills development, and adventure. Joseph completed the final requirement for the award – the Outdoor Challenge Badge – while at the camp, which included taking part in two nights away and embracing a range of outdoor activities and teamwork challenges.
The award was presented by Jacob Jones, District Lead Volunteer for Clwyd Scouts, who praised Joseph’s positive attitude and hard work:
“Joseph’s enthusiasm is infectious and he has worked extremely hard to achieve this award.”
Receiving the award at camp made the moment even more special for Joseph, who was clearly delighted to be recognised in front of fellow Cubs and leaders.
“He was so excited,” said one of his leaders. “It’s a brilliant way to mark the end of his Cub journey and the start of new adventures.”
Everyone at 2nd Rhyl Scouts and across Clwyd is incredibly proud of Joseph’s achievement. His journey through Cubs has been filled with dedication, curiosity, and a love for the outdoors – all qualities that truly reflect the spirit of Scouting.
Well done, Joseph!
