January seems to have disappeared in a blink, but that can only mean one thing, we are already racing into an action packed year ahead. With birthdays, events, camps and development opportunities filling the calendar, 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for Vale of Clwyd Scouts.
Building on the fantastic growth, energy and successes of 2025, we are confident that 2026 will be even bigger, better and bolder. None of this happens without the time, commitment and passion of our volunteers, so thank you for everything you do to support young people across the District.
Introducing some new (well… not that new) faces
Towards the end of last year, we saw some positive movement within our District Leadership Team, and we were delighted to welcome a number of people into new or expanded roles. These changes strengthen the support available across the District and help us keep moving forward.

Ashley Tazzyman
14–24 Team Lead
Supporting Explorer Scouts and Network, and championing opportunities for young people aged 14 to 24.

Huw Jones
District Chair
Providing strategic leadership and governance, and supporting the District to thrive.

Isaac Jones & Joseph Steel
District Youth Leads
Representing the voice of young people and ensuring youth shaped Scouting sits at the heart of everything we do.

Aimee Curtis
Volunteer Development Team
Supporting recruitment, retention and development of volunteers across the District.
Alongside these changes, we have refreshed our District Team page to make it clearer and easier to find out who does what, and who to contact for support.
