Hi there,
My name is Jacob, and I’m the new District Lead Volunteer (formerly known as District Commissioner) for the Vale of Clwyd. I’ve been part of Scouting since I was six years old, starting as a Beaver. Over the years, I’ve been a young leader and leader in Beaver, Cub, and Scout sections, both here in the Vale of Clwyd and in Merseyside during my time at uni. For the past three years, I’ve supported Clwyd Scouts as their Comms Lead and worked on delivering Transformation across the area.

Scouting has been a huge part of my life for nearly 18 years. I’m incredibly passionate about ensuring all young people, regardless of their background, have the opportunity to take part, try new things, make lasting friendships, and gain skills for life. I’m equally committed to supporting our incredible volunteers—without you, Scouting simply wouldn’t happen. Volunteering and making a difference to people’s lives is something I value deeply, and I’ve even built my career around it. I currently work as the Volunteer and Comms Lead at a large health and social care charity. Outside of work and Scouting, I run a youth theatre company based in Rhyl.

I’m here to support the district and help it grow and thrive. Please let me know about all the exciting things that you’re getting up to with your young people – I want to come along and get involved in the fun!
Please also let me know if there’s anything that I can do to support you, your group, unit or section.
