Last weekend, our newly formed Scout Network participated in the Manchester Monopoly Run, a unique scavenger hunt across Manchester City Centre, its suburbs, and parts of Salford. This event challenged participants to work in teams, using only their feet and the Metrolink for transportation. Armed with a map and list of street names and challenges the team worked together to score their points!

Participants gathered points by taking selfies at various designated locations. This not only tested their navigation skills but also their ability to work as a team. Additionally, surprise challenges along the route offered opportunities to earn bonus points, adding an element of unpredictability to the day.

This event is a prime example of what the Scout Network offers: adventures that build teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills. It’s an opportunity for young adults aged 18-25 to engage in a range of activities that contribute to personal development and community involvement.

Visiting iconic streets, locations and sites right across the city, Jacob, Ben & Katy wracked up over 20km sprinting from location to location – as first timers to the event, they were extremely happy to rank in 15th. The event saw nearly 500 adults from both Scouting and Guiding gather from across the UK to take part.
